In 2006, Boyata moved to Manchester City at the age of 15 to complete his youth development. In 2009, he was included in the matchday squad for the first time under then-manager Roberto Mancini.
After a few years, Boyata decided to play for Celtic Glasgow. At the Scottish top club, he won the league title 4 times, as well as 3 times the cup and the league cup.
The Belgian international with 30 caps brings a wealth of experience, having participated in 2 UEFA Champions League campaigns, 3 Europa League group stages and 1 World Cup.
In 2019, Boyata made the move to the German Bundesliga, where he played for Hertha BSC. In the summer of 2022, Boyata joined Club Brugge. He signed a contract until mid-2025.
