Some 500 Club Partners gathered at the Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre this evening for the third edition of the Charity Night, powered by Allianz. At the New Year's reception, which has been dedicated to charity since 2020, the record amount of no less than €300,000 for Club Brugge Foundation & Make-A-Wish Belgium-Vlaanderen was matched once again.
After 'Kom Op Tegen Kanker' and 'Special Olympics Belgium', this time the gala evening was dedicated to Make-A-Wish Belgium-Flanders. The organization has been fulfilling the greatest wishes of children between the ages of 3 and 18 with a life-threatening medical condition for almost 35 years.
Presenter Sofie Lemaire and chairman Bart Verhaeghe opened the event with a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks. The musical accompaniment was provided by Joost Zweegers of Novastar Solo. Each table, which was sold for the benefit of the two charities, was completed with an A-core player or a former player of Blauw-Zwart. Furthermore, many unique items also went under the hammer of auctioneer Leo Van der Elst. For example, a living room concert by Clouseau brought in no less than €32,000 and a Basecamp Cup of 50 personnel provided an additional €7,700.
After the first edition's €155,885 and last year's €300,000, the record was matched again. The final amount €285,056 was personally raised by our president. An amazing sum to the benefit of Club Brugge Foundation & Make-A-Wish Belgium-Vlaanderen.
Thank you to all partners present!
