Whoever says Zeebrugge, says 't Werftje. What began on the Werfkaai grew into a fixture for lovers of fresh fish, seafood and a cozy atmosphere on the harbor. The original building remained unchanged since 1905, until a thorough renovation in 2015 brought more comfort without losing its charm, soul and authenticity.
Today, 't Werftje continues that rich tradition in a new location at Omookaai 8. Since March 2025, Eli and his team have welcomed guests to a renovated establishment right on the waterfront, where space, comfort and atmosphere come together in a beautiful setting.
THE FLAVORS OF THE NORTH SEA
At 't Werftje, everything is about enjoyment: from a delicious lunch or a sumptuous dinner to a refreshing pint at the bar. The menu features creations from the North Sea, including oysters, shellfish, gray shrimp, langoustines, crab and many other classics from scratch.
An absolute specialty are the shrimp croquettes. In 2015, Luc Bellings awarded the shrimp croquettes of 't Werftje as the best on the coast with a score of 10/10. A recognition that perfectly fits the reputation of this Zeebrugge classic.
AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE, WARM HOSPITALITY
't Werftje stands for a casual and warm experience. Reservations cannot be made, but those waiting for a table can feel free to have a drink at the bar. Thus, the atmosphere remains spontaneous, lively and typical of 't Werftje: cozy, hospitable and close to the people.
Those who want to experience the flavors of 't Werftje at home can also go through the take-away webshop. Take-out is possible on the days when the take-away is available, each time between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
