In its 350th European appearance, Club deserved so much better than the bitter pill handed to them by the end of the game. The 1-1 dampened Club's spirits, not in the least in Maxim De Cuyper.
“Seeing it end in 1-1 is super frustrating", Club's number 55 started out. "Throughout the entire game we have easily created the most chances to finish it off. We hardly gave anything away in those 95 minutes, but still it's 1-1 in the end. That's how harsh football can be, but it is and it will remain very frustrating. I'm sure that if you play this game ten times, you win it nine times out of ten, but today was that one time you don't and that's just sad. Still, I reckon we put in a good performance. We just missed that bit of luck to score today. Form of the day? Who knows? It's not like we intentionally put that ball wide or aim it at the goalkeeper. Things werent' going our way efficiency wise. Now let's focus on next Sunday, where another clash awaits. We need to process this score as quickly as we can. We'll talk about this draw tomorrow in order to get past it, and after that it's all focus on that trip to Anderlecht.” (FDC)
