Nordin Jackers: “Again showed resilience“
Club Brugge was victorious in its first leg against Genk. A post game reaction comes from Nordin Jackers, our Limburg goalie: “I was given the nod again, just like in the previous Cup encounters. I won't deny that this pleases me immensely, as you want to play as much as you can. Added pressure? Not at all; it's a matter of being available, and just do my thing and grab those chances with both hands. It's not like this has been agreed upon beforehand, but when you're in a top team, you have to be able to handle the requisites of your role. With Simon out injured last season, I had my chance by the end of the season, and right now the coach van count on me again. It's vital to remain focused at training, and to give it all you've got.”
2-1, it's a bonus, but not one that will set one's mind at ease with the trip to Genk still in store: “It's never easy playing in Genkt, but after our win today, we should be taking on that away game with a good feeling. Even if we know darned well we will have to give it all we've got to make it to the Final. We had our rough moments in this game too, but we also showed resilience again, turning a defeat into a victory. You always hope you can get a bigger gap in that home game, but all in all 2-1 is still just a fine result. Genk has a solid outfit, it's not per chance that they top the league right now."
