A derserved win vs Essevee Women helps Club YLA to third place (1-3)

Lotto Super League

Last Saturday afternoon, Club YLA headed to the Elindus Arena for the game against Essevee Women. In a direct battle for third place, Club YLA drew the longer straw with a deserved 1-3 victory.

The match got off to a difficult start for Club YLA, with the hosts taking an early lead after a clever and quick shot from outside the box by Lena Hubaut: 1-0.

Unphased, Club YLA gradually took over and halfway through the first half the deserved equalizer followed as Lisa Petry coolly rounded off a quick counter and brought Club YLA level. With a 1-1 score, both teams went to rest.

After the break, Club YLA came out of the locker room strong and sharp. In a dominant second half, the visitors struck quickly. First, it was Petry again who worked her second of the afternoon against the ropes and gave Club YLA the lead. A few minutes later, Moisa Van Koot followed suit. She headed in her very first goal in Club attire, recording the 1-3 final score.

With her double goal, Petry sits alone at the top of the Lotto Super League's top shooter standings. Club YLA did not relinquish the match afterwards and played maturely towards the end.

Thanks to this win, Club YLA jumps over Essevee Women to third place in the standings, trailing RSCA Women by five points and OH Leuven Women by seven.
